When you are
away from home, friends officially become your family. You have no option but
to adopt them and let them adopt you. They may not be able to replace your
family but admit it or not, they are all the loved ones that you can have to
keep yourself sane from all the madness (or they be the ones to make you go mad)
When I say
family, I truly mean family in all its glory! They might be people of different
kinds with differences of opinion plenty. But at the end of
the day, they all bond to form what is called a family. You grow to accept them
as they are because you realize that only these
differences makes the bonding even stronger and that no matter what, they are your adopted family.
It was the
Memorial Day weekend and I had my traditional Seemandam (Indian baby shower) on
May 28, Saturday. Of course, my friends were there to make the day extra
special (more about it coming soon). The day following Seemandam, we made an
impromptu plan to Chicago Downtown with my adopted family and I had so much fun.
Tintinie must have wondered from inside if it is some ‘tummy’-quake with all the
laughter and fun that I had on that day.
We literally
did nothing but take a walk in the Chicago’s famous Navy Pier. I still enjoyed
every second of it and I will not be doing justice if I do not document such a
happy day in TinTin Times as I know for sure it will make me happy and will
bring a smile to my face when I look back at it after many years!
